Your contractors. Your 1099s. Handled.

Paid independent contractors during 2026? Your business may need to issue Forms 1099. We determine what's reportable, prepare the forms, file with the IRS, and deliver recipient copies. Starting at $199.

Important change for 2026

The reporting rules shifted — and that confusion is exactly why a professional review pays for itself.

The general federal reporting threshold for many contractor payments rose from $600 to $2,000 for tax year 2026 (indexed in later years). But not every payment follows the general rule — payment type, the recipient's business form, and how they were paid all change the answer, and some categories like royalties keep their own thresholds.

We review the information you provide and tell you which forms your business actually needs — forms determined not to be required within the agreed scope are simply not billed as additional forms.

Common questions

Do I need to file 1099s if I paid a contractor less than $2,000 in 2026?

The general federal reporting threshold for specified contractor payments rose to $2,000 for tax year 2026, but it is not a blanket rule — payment type, recipient entity, and card-broker payments change the answer. We review the information you provide to determine which forms your business actually needs; forms we determine are not required within the agreed scope are simply not billed as additional forms (the base engagement still applies).

When are 1099s due for tax year 2026?

Forms 1099-NEC must generally be filed with the IRS and furnished to recipients by February 1, 2027. Forms 1099-MISC must be furnished to recipients by February 1, 2027 and e-filed with the IRS by March 31, 2027. Our standard intake closes January 20, 2027; rush intake runs January 21–27.

What if my records aren't organized?

The base price assumes complete, organized client-provided records — W-9s and a payment summary. If W-9s need to be collected or payments need to be reconciled, that is available as an add-on ($20/contractor per contractor for W-9 collection; $125/hour for bookkeeping review), quoted in writing before any work begins.

What if a form needs to be corrected after filing?

Corrections caused by our error are free. Client-requested corrections after filing are $50/form per form.

Pricing assumes complete and organized client-provided records. Bookkeeping reconciliation, extensive missing-information follow-up, certain corrections, and state filings may require additional fees. Filing obligations vary by payment type and circumstances — this page is general information, not tax advice.
